Kitsch Cars
They say an Englishman's home is his castle. If that's the case, what do these cars say about their owners?
Car art is defined as a car that has been altered in some way that it looks different from its original state. One example of multiple cars being converted to a work of art is in Alliance, Nebraska, USA where in 1982, geologist Jim Reinders built a replica of the World Famous Druid structure, Stone Henge. Using 33 old cars, the piece was initially shunned before being rescued by fans!
Art cars are not a common sight on British roads but there are specialist companies (mostly our American counterparts) which specialise in customising vehicles for those who can afford the price tag! Whether you want sequins or satin, there's bound to be a kitsch car out there to suit you!
For the panto dame, this car really is ideal. Providing comfort and security with the latest in kitsch. Practical, yet aluring.
Combining Roulette, Blackjack and of course a customised beverage holder, the casino-in-a-car is a must have for the risk takers among you. Eat your heart out Las Vegas!
Our personal favourite is this converted 1981 Toyota Corolla station wagon, which far from resembling a car is more of a mobile nature reserve - the garden in a car!
