Part One

Welcome to the first of our guides to living animations shown on television. Everyone remembers the classic live action tv animations of the seventies and eighties. Here is our tribute to them!

Bagpuss

Bagpuss and friends

The Professor
Only 13 episodes were ever made, but Bagpuss, the old cloth cat that lived in a shop window, had made his mark on cult tv for many generations.

His owner Emily loved him very dearly and when she left the shop, the toys would begin their adventures.
Emily would bring bagpuss items to repair which they do watched over by the professor Yaffle until they all become very tired and fall asleep.

Morph

Morph and ChasMorph was the cheeky chappy created by artist Tony Hart who first appeared in "Take Hart".

Morph used to get up to all sorts of mischief and as the name suggests, he could "morph" into different shapes and get involved in all sorts of trouble with his friend Chas. Morph later starred in "The Amazing Adventures of Morph" made by Aardman Animations who later went on to successes with Wallace & Grommitt and Chicken Run.

The Clangers

The ClangersThe Clangers were a small population of mice living on the surface of the moon. They communicated through a series of whistles and had fabulous adventures on the surface of their planet, encountering iron chickens, seeds and musical instruments. Their ally was the soup dragon, who made soup for the Clangers. Here they are resembling a Genesis album cover!

Button Moon

Mr and Mrs Spoon on Button MoonAlso on the moon were Mr and Mrs Spoon who used to travel in a washing-up liquid bottle to the fabulous Button Moon to see all their friends!
