Haw Par Villa
Entrance to Haw Par Villa

The charmingly understated entrance to Haw Par Villa provides a taste of what's in store!

Just outside the city of Singapore, lies the Chinese theme park of Haw Par Villa. Dubbed, the "Disneyland of the East", the park was built in 1937 by Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par and is decorated with statues of ancient mythological creatures and tells stories of Ancient China, including the hugely popular exhibition of the 10 courts of Hell.

Entering the park on a boat ride through an ornately decorated 60 metre long Dragon, visitors are greeted by performers, entertainers and puppet shows.

The grotesque figurines and brash colours truly make Haw Par Villa a kitsch wonder of the World.
