Carhenge

Carhenge rises gracefully above the plains of Nebraska.

Despite being modelled on what could arguably be one of the modern surviving wonders of the World, Carhenge has proved to be a wonder in it's own right by it's bawdy and brash presence looming above the plains of Alliance, Nebraska, USA.

Constructed in 1987 by engineer Jim Reinders, Carhenge is built entirely from cars and designed to represent the Druid monument of Stonehenge (Salisbury Plain, UK). Carhenge boasts 38 automobiles arranged exactly in the positions of the original monument including in pride of place, a 1962 Cadillac.

When visiting the USA there simply is no better place to see in the Winter or Summer solstice than Carhenge.
