The Christmas Cracker was invented in 1830 by baker, Tom Smith. Smith worked in the bakers and confectionary shop in London, inventing and devising his own confectionary.
The crackers soon became extremely popular amongst the wealthy londoners and soon became a hit worldwide with their use in the Paris Exhibition of 1900, to gifts for returing war heroes during WWI.
